In response to China's national strategic shift from "following to leading," Fudan University and Shanghai Academy of Natural Sciences (SANS) have jointly established the Fudan SANS Neuroscience Center (FSNC, under development). As a secondary-level research entity with independent operational status, FSNC embodies the shared mission of both institutions to pursue groundbreaking original science, with a core focus on "dual-driven innovation in fundamental discovery and translational application." The center aims to decipher brain functional mechanisms and uncover the pathological basis of major neurological disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and Parkinson's disease (PD). Our goal is to achieve "0-to-1" theoretical breakthroughs at the frontiers of neuroscience and establish a new research paradigm that seamlessly bridges basic discovery and clinical application, accelerating the translation of original findings into clinical practice and industrial innovation.
FSNC will foster a multidisciplinary research and training ecosystem characterized by complementary strengths and synergistic development with other units at Fudan University. Through mechanisms such as "center-selected, dual-appointed" faculty positions, joint research project pools, and collaborative graduate training, we aim to create bidirectional integration of talent, knowledge, and technology, forming a highly focused and impactful Fudan brain science innovation cluster. This effort will serve as a core pillar for Fudan's pursuit of world-class status and first-class disciplines.
As a pilot zone for scientific research systems and cultural innovation, FSNC will explore new evaluation models based on original breakthroughs and substantive contributions, cultivate a research culture dedicated to excellence and deep inquiry, and strive to generate replicable pilot experiences for institutional reform in science and technology at Fudan, Shanghai, and the national level.
To accelerate the development of FSNC, we invite outstanding scientists from around the world to join us in building a globally recognized neuroscience research platform. We seek experts in:
Fine-scale neural circuit mapping and functional decoding
Pathogenic mechanisms and therapeutic target discovery in major brain disorders
Neuropharmacology and translational drug development
Intelligent neurotechnologies and cross-disciplinary applications
I. Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a genuine passion for research, a Ph.D. from a globally renowned university, and postdoctoral research experience. Candidates should have an independent track record of original, internationally impactful research and the potential to achieve "0-to-1" theoretical breakthroughs, shaping future directions in their field.

1. Compensation
Base salary: Internationally competitive, with unlimited performance-based rewards.
Top-up support: High-performing candidates may receive additional funding from Fudan's talent recruitment resources, Strategic Talent Development Program, Xianghui Young Scholar Program, Emerging Engineering Talent Fund, Xiaomi Young Scholar Program, Shanghai municipal talent programs, and joint appointments with affiliated hospitals.
